Before becoming a #nutritionist, Paul Saladino had spent years traveling and exploring the world. The experience of skiing, surfing, and climbing mountains, he says, shaped both his personal interests and professional views. Having sowed his wild oats, Saladino put in 10 years of study to become a physician. He is now one of the leaders of the so-called “carnivore movement.” The carnivore diet implies that you mainly consume meat and animal products and exclude any carbs. To simplify a bit, the main thrust of the argument in favor of this diet (which itself is not without its critics) is that our ancestors used to eat like that. Saladino’s “The Carnivore Code” also lists ways in which plants can be harmful to the human body and explains the critical role meat plays in the development of the brain.
