An activist, chef, restaurateur and author.  Her life changed when she came back from Paris in the late 1960’s and in 1971 She opened Chez Panisse . A pioneer farm to table movement that at the time as non-existing in this. She wrote several books including her memoir Coming to My senses: the making of counterculture cook.
