#83: Watching The World Burn: 3 Years On From Grenfell. #BlackLivesMatter
It is here I want to share two things. One, being a blog post I wrote a while back. It speaks to the idea of becoming a Black person, and the idea of what it means to watch the world burn. Watch lives that we know matter, be told they don’t. Far-right protesters wreaked havoc over a June weekend in London over a statue that instigated much of the world’s ills. To be Black, is to be scrutinised and not be able to breathe. Flames kill us. The smoke of the system does too. The second, is a snippet of a conversation I had with my friends Ryan Nile and Alex Manzi about race. This is part of a wider discussion you can find on their platforms, The Ryan Nile Show, and In The Moment with Alex Manzi. We discuss race, solutions and how we feel about the moment.
