Luke Burgis - How Our Future is Shaped by What We Learn to Want, and Why?
Luke Burgis explores human ecology and how our technology, relationships, politics, economics, education & systems affect what we want, our desires. Our future is shaped by what we learn to want and why. Luke wrote 'Wanting', a book based on the work of René Girard, a French polymath who coined the term mimetic theory, which describes the process of imitation or mimicry through which people portray and interpret the world. It's a way of thinking about our models - people or things that show us what is worth wanting, our perceived desires. Luke is incredibly insightful and this conversation, when intentionally absorbed, will impact every aspect of your life.
