His book is both practical and personal. He worked as a psychotherapist and saw that there were flaws in the system. He came to believe that there was a problem about the way “the system” thinks about mental illness and mental health. Now he works as a coach to help people look forward to create the life they want to live and unleash their inner genius. Hynes argues that healing techniques such as somatics, coupled with a reconnection to allegories that hide the keys to our happiness in plain sight, will lead us home.
