Thanks for listening to the Creating Resilience podcast. I’m joined by Kit OMalley, author of "Balancing Act: Writing Through a Bipolar Life," Kit is a mental health advocate, public speaker, and former psychotherapist who lives with bipolar disorder. Her personal experience and clinical background inform her advocacy and enable her to help herself and guide others toward mental health recovery. We talk about Kit’s work volunteering with the US National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and how they are supporting an national suicide and crisis line. We compared how mental health is supported in the UK and how Kit used creative ways to support her psychotherapy patients and her own mental health as she came to terms with living with a Bipolar diagnosis.
