Click here to send me a quick message :) Have you ever wondered if there was a connection between your menstrual cycle, hormones and ADHD or other symptoms? I know personally I"ve seen a lot more inattentiveness myself during the few days leading up to my bleed. You? But today"s guest, Adele Wimsett of Harmonise You, specializes in the link between ADHD/neurodiversity and hormones, particularly in the perimenopausal years. And she did a small clinical trial with some of her clients, tracking their hormones alongside their traits. While she didn"t find clear patterns, she did see some evidence of the importance of progesterone in easing back some of the symptoms. We also talk about some of the other research that"s been done over the past several years showing links between ADHD and things like PMDD, postpartum depression, histamine sensitivity and menstrual cycles. It"s a quick interview PACKED with gems from Adele"s clinical practice and research. I hope it provides some insights on how cycle/hormone tracking can be a missing key to unlocking some of what"s behind various mind, mood and physical symptoms!
