Seth Godin | The Best Advice for Business & Life | Podcast series / Marketing
Seth Godin gave me some advice that changed my life.Fair warning, I share some personal stuff. This is an edited clip from the end of a 2-hour by-invite-only conference I hosted with Seth in Feb. 2018. It has since gone on to received over half a million views on Youtube with no signs of slowing down. If you"ve been playing the victim or waiting to get picked...this podcast episode might be for you. It turns out The "soft skills" like honestly, integrity and vulnerability have always been the most important to any kind of success. Ironically, unlike most other business related skills that can be taught, these skills must be developed because they are not inherent. I"m working on getting better in this area but admittedly it takes work. I like what author Brené Brown said: “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” Here"s a little video of me trying to put this into practice.
