Podcast Episode 23- Creating Sobriety with Joe Kiney-Whitmore
Thanks for listening to the Creating Resilience podcast. For episode 25 I’m joined by Artist, illustrator and creative writer Joe Kiney-Whitmore, who is originally from Wigan, England but has lived and worked in Poland, Hong Kong, New Zealand and now lives in Montreal, Canada. He has experience teaching creative workshops for children, young adults and adults with mental health challenges and learning differences. He talks about his journey since getting sober over 2 years ago, and forging his own path as a self-employed artist and blogger. We also discuss his goal to build an online learning hub and community for young creative men who have lost their way with alcohol or have a negative relationship with substances and don't feel creatively fulfilled or who are struggling with reality and finding meaning in their lives. We chat about how creativity helped Joe to find structure in his life and support his journey to sobriety and maintain his daily life staying sober and he shares some great tips to get creative every day. To find out more about Joe’s work and story he is on Instragram: @joekineywhitmore and FaceBook here His Creating Sobriety group can be found here: @creating_sobriety And on Facebook here.
