He considers himself a podcast junkie. Fortunately, his obsession is working out pretty well for him. But, for Alan Seales, “tuning IN" to his own frequency was a must if he wanted to tune OUT the demons of life’s demands. Alan is not only the co-founder and CTO of the Broadway Podcast Network and executive producer/host of The Theatre Podcast, he’s also the man behind Talks at Google, a family guy and oh yeah… the producer of HIListically Speaking. There’s a lot of juggling happening here. And even for the guy BPN calls, “The Podcast Dad”, it isn’t always easy. When it comes to one’s emotional well-being, finding balance in a fast paced world requires practice and a lot of patience. Mental health is definitely a topic that needs more discussion. It’s why both Alan and I created the space for those conversations to happen. It’s why, after almost two decades of friendship that began on stage, we found a new platform that pairs our passion with our purpose. It’s why we’re both here. On this episode of HIListically Speaking, Alan shares more about his own mental health battles, how his podcast came to life and what he’s hoping to achieve as the theatre turn tech guy who found a new spotlight for stories to be told when the curtain falls.
