Father Greg Boyle is a Jesuit priest and the founder of Homeboy Industries, the largest gang intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry program in the world. A Los Angeles native, he served as pastor of Dolores Mission Church in Boyle Heights, one of the city’s most impoverished and gang-afflicted parishes. In response to the devastating impact of gang violence, he pioneered a radical approach: treating gang members with compassion rather than suppression, ultimately transforming thousands of lives. Father Greg is the author of multiple bestselling books, including Tattoos on the Heart, Barking to the Choir, and The Whole Language. His work has earned him widespread recognition, including the California Peace Prize, the Laetare Medal from the University of Notre Dame, and most recently, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
