Are you like me and cringe at the word menopause? Whether you're in it, and listen to everything about it or totally avoid it, this a conversation you'll love.   It's time to embrace the crone.   Discover more about the role of oxytocin in building trust and connection, and techniques for inducing it naturally.   We discuss the importance of taking menopause seriously (there's fun elements, we promise), nourishing yourself during the transition and the importance of brain health; through proper nutrition, hydration, movement, and taking breaks.   Learn how to deal with the common issue of women experiencing a drop in libido and discomfort with bodily changes during menopause, leading to potential relationship issues, and emphasizes the importance of staying connected with oneself and partners as sexual beings (54:51)   Helen guides us on a meditation on directing love towards oneself or others to release oxytocin and feel a sense of connection and trust (1:04:10)   Helen Hart is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master, Neuroscience Researcher, Yoga Teacher and a tea drinking, dog walking, single mum to two teenage daughters. She loves to laugh (mostly at herself), and talk about philosophy, the meaning of life and death, far away galaxies, adventures, fears and failures. She's in love with life and hopes that after living a full and happy life she dies of laughter! Helen Hart is equal parts science and woo-woo. Helen is a Neuroscience Facilitator/Assessor , Clinical Hypnotherapist, Reiki Master and Yoga Teacher. Helen specialises in in anxiety, trauma and relationships (especially the relationships we have with ourselves). She wishes she had a dollar for every time someone said to her ‘this is going to sound weird’ - just for the record, it never sounds weird to her - not even the really “weird” stuff. Her greatest wish is for everyone to rediscover their magic and embrace love + life with grit and meaning. Through her therapeutic work Helen has observed the need for movement, mindfulness and pranayama (breathwork) to restore balance and engage our body’s parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest), bringing us into a state of wellness and wellbeing.
