Blessings in Disguise - Welcoming obstacles- Jeevan Matharu
'A farmer owned a single horse essential for his work. One day, the horse ran away. The neighbors came to express their sympathy, “Such bad luck!” The farmer simply replied, “Good luck, bad luck, who knows?” A week later, the horse returned, bringing with it a herd of wild horses. The neighbors now exclaimed, “What great luck!” The farmer again said, “Good luck, bad luck, who knows?” While taming one of the wild horses, the farmer’s son fell and broke his leg. The neighbors, ever reactive, cried, “Such terrible luck!” But the farmer stayed calm: “Good luck, bad luck, who knows?” Not long after, the army arrived to conscript young men for war. Due to his injury, the farmer’s son was spared. The neighbors marveled, “What amazing luck!” And yet again, the farmer replied, “Good luck, bad luck, who knows?” The moral? Life is full of twists and turns, and what seems like a curse today could be a blessing tomorrow. This perspective allows us to welcome obstacles, knowing they may lead to unforeseen gifts.'
