58: Mauricio Diaz: Life-Affirming Organism; Storytelling as Connection; Discover the World through Movement

Mauricio (Mau) Diaz (he/him) is a storyteller, an ultrarunner, an adventurer, and a connector. He is an entrepreneur, CEO and co-founder of Aire Libre, a Mexico City-based creative project that hosts immersive running experiences in exotic corners of the world. Mauricio is a lululemon ambassador and a Beyond Running podcast host. He has his BA in Digital Marketing from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey / ITESM. He has a Certificate in Chinese Foreign Policy and Chinese Society and Culture from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He values community and taking a stand against passive roles. He embraces a diversity of ideas and experiences and encourages people to question our own values and open our minds to new ways of thinking and being. Mauricio values connection rather than competition. He is a community builder and hopes for running to foster deep transformations with a strong focus on cultural immersion. Mauricio is curious, present, intentional, reflective and playful. We talk about the beautiful, mystical experience of connecting with his dog, Aire. Mauricio shares about his gifts of curiosity, spark, and connecting/community. His curiosity is led by his passion and by his heart guidance. Mauricio"s parents encouraged him to go and experience the world and he has done that ever since. He shares about how storytelling is about the connections you make and the feelings you can produce. During an ultra race, he experienced a connection to one-ness that was full of energy in the desert and evoked an emotion of thankfulness.
