‘We’re NOT changing people’s faces’ - Why society needs to stop judging those who get aesthetic treatments.
This topic has long been overdue for discussion, and when Nurse KB entered my podcast competition, both my team and I were aware that his chosen topic would be a compelling one. In this episode, I have a conversation with Nurse KB about the prevailing stereotypes surrounding aesthetic treatments. Despite the increasing intensity of the push towards body positivity and inclusivity in 2023, why do patients still experience concerns about being judged for opting for injectables? Rather than desiring a completely transformed appearance, many patients simply wish to regain their own familiar look. During our discussion, we explore the importance of effectively communicating this message to patients and society at large. We emphasize that opting for injectables does not mean adopting the infamous "duck lips" or a frozen botox face. When performed correctly, it can lead to renewed self-confidence and subtle adjustments that help patients feel more like themselves again. If your patients express worry about being judged by their peers for getting aesthetic treatments, if they’re worried about ending up with ‘duck lips’ or feel getting injectables will make them ‘vain’ then this episode will help you to understand how to educate your patients on why and how we can achieve subtle, unnoticeable results.
