How to be an ARTISTIC ENTREPRENEUR! Sit down with all round performer and creator Michael Sharmon.
Michael Sharmon is originally from Australia, and has worked in the worlds of Television, Radio, Film and Theatre. He studied Speech and Drama for film and television at the NSW Conservatorium. Writing, at the The University of East Anglia, and in 2016, he was selected as the Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connections; Emerging Director and part of the experience included traveling to the UK in the Summer of 2016, to further his studies as a director at LAMDA; and then returning to Hong Kong to direct “Jane Eyre” for the company. He has since directed productions of “Theseus and the Minotaur”, “The Secret Garden”, and “Pygmalion”. Michael is one of the founders of Golden Voice Entertainment, along with his business partner Sandra Waters. He has written two original musicals, “Auditions” which was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and “Arabian Dreams” which had it’s premiere in Hong Kong in September 2018. He also wrote the play “Lions Typhoons and Judy, Oh My!” about Judy Garland, which premiered in Hong Kong in June 2018. As an actor Michael has performed the roles of Malvolio in “Twelfth Night”, Passepartout in “Around the World in 80 days” and Javert in “Les Miserables”. He had the privilege of performing with the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in their Annual performance of the “Snowman and the Bear” in 2018, and other roles include Oberon in “A Midsummer Night's Dream”, “Hamlet” in Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, and Jacob Marley in “A Christmas Carol”. In 2019 he performed at the Compassion Awards which was broadcast on Phoenix TV. In 2020 Michael created an online Podcast through Golden Voice Entertainment, called Musical Story Time which is now available on all popular, social media platforms.
