Lisa created her own series of daily lessons to teach and reinforce crucial writing skills. In the first year, Lisa’s systematic approach increased the percentage of her students scoring at the proficiency level from 38% to 95%, a number that increased to 100% for the following two years. Due to her method’s success, word spread and Lisa began receiving frequent requests for her program. With no business experience and an initial investment of only $100, Lisa began selling her curriculum to others. Top Score Writing has been adopted nationally by hundreds of schools and has earned both Lisa and the company numerous awards including Top 50 Florida Companies to Watch for 2021, a CEO Global Award, and Entrepreneur of the Year 2021. With a mission to serve children in her community, in 2016 Lisa bought a local private school and turned it into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
