Chuck's Bio My education and professional experience are in engineering and business. I have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech University and an MBA from Pepperdine University. I have been a principal mechanical design and development engineer. I have also worked as a principal systems engineer, quality engineer, and Raytheon 6-Sigma expert. My primary work has been in the aerospace, computer, oilfield, defense industries, and education sectors. I have been fascinated with the power of critical thinking ever since a class I took from Dr. Wayne Gertmenian (Dr. G.) in Microeconomics at Pepperdine University during my MBA program. In sixteen weeks, Dr. G. taught us a great deal about Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and spiced up the class with religion, law, and investing. Throughout the course, Dr. G. repeatedly encouraged critical thinking. This inspired me to learn about and write about our brains' incredible power and usefulness when we think critically. Engineering, business, school, and life are much richer when we use the full power of our minds. My recent books have been on the practical mathematics of poker. These include Mastering Poker Math, Volume 1, Mastering Poker Math, Volume 2, and the Mastering Poker Math Workbook. They are all available on Amazon.com. I live in Georgetown, Texas, and enjoy visiting family and friends, reading, writing, exercising, traveling, playing Texas No-Limit Hold’em, Pickleball, Argentine Tango, investing, traveling, and more. I desire to give back and serve as the chairman of the board of advisors for ICAN, the International Cancer Advocacy Network, in the war against cancer. http://www.chuckclayton.net/ #TheDougThompsonPodcast #EmergingSpeakers #CriticalThinking #Engineering #Business #PokerMath #storytelling #iblamedoug --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-doug-thompson/support
