Pregnancy with type 1 diabetes requires tight management—but what if the very tools designed to help aren't designed or approved for pregnancy? We’re talking about the T1D Pregnancy & Me study, a groundbreaking effort to close the data gap and include pregnant women in diabetes tech research. We’ll go through who can be in this study, how It works, what they’re looking for and what it could mean for the future of diabetes care during those nine months and a lot more. My guests are: Dr Camille E. Powe, an Associate Professor at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School and the study’s Chair and Carrie Matuzsan, a patient advisor. Carrie lives with type 1 and had twins in 2020. This podcast is not intended as medical advice. If you have those kinds of questions, please contact your health care provider.
