Listen to Elaine Duncan, CEO of the Scottish Bible Society and Chair of the United Bible Societies (UBS) Fellowship Council, being interviewed by veteran journalist Lorna Dueck. Elaine has led the Scottish Bible Society for over eighteen years, after her previous employment with Scripture Union Scotland and the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship. In this episode, Elaine shares about the ongoing work to put the Bible back into the heart of Scotland. The work of the Scottish Bible Society is to share the Bible in Scotland and around the world as their conviction is that the Bible will lead people to Jesus. Elaine is not only enthusiastic about people having a Bible in their own language, but also in helping people understand it and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through it. The focus of Elaine’s work has always been to encourage people to know God better as they interact with His Word. Elaine previously worked with Scripture Union Scotland and the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship. She has a degree in Behavioural Sciences (psychology) and worked for 18 months in a psychiatric unit. Elaine says fresh air, exercise, good coffee, stimulating friends and food go into making a great day! Elaine is originally from Cumbria. She now lives in Glasgow, works in Edinburgh and supports the Scottish rugby team!
