Richard A. Kiers - Christian Cult Survivor Divorced: Fundamentalist Christianity CW: Brief mention of CSA and suicidality My guest today is author and cult survivor Richard A. Kiers. Richard was born in Canada to Dutch parents. When he was 10, Richard’s parents joined a Group called "The Move" and relocated their family to a commune in British Columbia in 1972.  It turned out that The Move was a cult, led by Sam Fife, which at one time had over 40,000 members. Richard wrote a book about his cult experiences called Swindled by Faith: A Time for Reconciliation. He also has a private FB group for cult survivors, called Silent Voices, and he is working on a podcast by the same name. In Richard’s own words: I lived there for only a few short years when I realized I had to leave or die. I have spent the rest of my life learning to be me.
