Chinese researchers recently unveiled Zuchongzhi 3.0, a 105-qubit quantum processor that reportedly outperforms Google’s Sycamore quantum computer by a factor of one million – meaning it can complete a task in seconds that would take the world’s fastest classical supercomputer 6.4 billion years. The experiment, which was published in Physical Review Letters, establishes a new benchmark in quantum computational advantage, using a 32-cycle random circuit sampling test with 83 optimized qubits.
