Psychedelic Conversations | Tamara - Mother's House
Welcome to the Psychedelic Conversations Podcast! In this episode, we speak with Tamara, a former nurse turned plant medicine facilitator, to explore the intersection of indigenous wisdom and modern therapeutic approaches. We discuss her journey from Western healthcare into the shamanic world, her deep work with Master Plant Dietas in Peru, and the founding of Mother’s House—a healing sanctuary in the Netherlands. Tamara shares insights into blending ceremonial traditions with therapeutic support, the role of community in integration, and why she believes healing is a lifelong path. We also touch on the challenges of navigating this work alongside everyday life, and the importance of each person discovering their own medicine. Whether you're a curious seeker or aspiring facilitator, this conversation offers heartfelt wisdom, grounded experience, and a call to reconnect with nature, each other, and ourselves. About Tamara:Tamara’s journey began in the medical world as a nurse, where she discovered the profound impact of compassion on healing. Witnessing a deep disconnection from self and nature—both in her patients and herself—she felt called to seek a more holistic path to well-being. This led her into the realms of yoga, breathwork, bodywork, and Reiki, eventually guiding her to the powerful world of Shamanic Plant Medicine. Tamara has immersed herself in traditional plant medicine practices, studying with Mestizo Maestros and currently apprenticing under a Shipibo Maestro from Peru. Through Master Plant Dietas, she works closely with sacred teacher plants such as Noya Rao, Bobinsana, Chullachaqui, Chiric Sanango, and Marosa. As a channel for their wisdom, she transmits their healing energy through ceremonial songs known as icaros, blending traditions from the Shipibo, Mestizo, Huni Kuin, Yawanawa, and her own European roots. Tamara is the co-founder and manager of Mother’s House, where she co-creates and leads psychedelic ceremonies and supports ongoing research. She also collaborates with ICEERS, helping to organize workshops on harm reduction and safety protocols for psychedelic facilitators. Through her work, Tamara has witnessed the deep transformational power of psychedelics in healing trauma. For her, this path is not a profession—it is a sacred calling. With deep respect for the plants and the indigenous wisdom she carries forward, she holds space for others to reconnect, heal, and remember: “You are the medicine. A change in perspective is a change of life.” Connect with Tamara:Website: https://mothershouse.com/ Thank you so much for joining us!
