Ordained minister, Dr. Dennis Hall, reviews the development of gambling in the United States, the extensiveness of this activity and the amount of money that is wagered each year in America. It is a staggering amount of money with more than half of Americans participating and 70% of adults finding it morally acceptable. Dr. Hall delves into the things that drive people to gamble, concluding that it is more than just trying to increase personal wealth. It involves a spiritual longing and gambling is used to feel that hole. It is pointed out that gambling in society seems to flourish during times when the population is turning its back on churches and organized religion. Addiction to gambling is discussed, pointing out that 2% of the population suffers from this malady. Dr. Hall concludes the podcast pointing out that when you feel compelled to go to casinos, bet on sporting events and buy lottery tickets it is not just a harmless form of recreation.  Can be heard on all podcast search engines and viewed on YouTube at: youtu.be/YzXwqjxZj1k.
