He began his career as a newspaper business reporter and editor, and has worked for The Baltimore Sun, The Charlotte Observer, The Chicago Sun Times, The Hartford Business Journal, and The Louisville Courier Journal. He later founded the insure.com consumer website and also worked as a communications executive for a large insurance company.
