PADRES POSTCAST: Cubs POUND Pivetta, Pads Fall to 7-2 After 2nd Straight Loss at Wrigley Field

Nick Pivetta gave up 3 runs in 3 innings, the Chicago Cubs hit 2 home runs and the Padres bats were silenced for the 2nd straight day, as the Pads fell 7-1 for their 5th consecutive win.   Carson Kelly hit a 2-run home run and drove in 4 runs, and Dansby Swanson also went deep and Nico Hoerner had 2 hits and drove in a run. as Chicago improved to 7-2 since it lost its 1st 2 games in Tokyo against the Dodgers.   Cubs lefty starter (1-0) pitched 6 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits.   It was San Diego's 2nd straight loss after opening the season with 7 consecutive wins.   The Padres scored their only run when Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a two-out RBI single in the 7th.   They also managed just one run in the series opener on Friday.   Padres Starter Nick Pivetta gave up 3 runs and 6 hits in just 3 innings.
