New Study by Grok & Scientists Challenges CO2’s Role in Global Warming | Tom Nelson Pod #288
About Jonathan Cohler: Graduated in 1980 from Harvard in Physics. Phi Beta Kappa. David McCord Prize. Since the 2010s, I have guest lectured occasionally in the physics department at Harvard Since the late 1990s, I have been keenly interested in the developing disinformation campaign often known as "climate science." I read extensively in this area. In recent years, I have taken an interest in investigating so-called "AI" software, and the planned total take-over of public discourse by the big tech companies and their co-conspirators in our current government. Dr. Willie Soon, an astrophysicist and geoscientist, is a leading authority on the relationship between solar phenomena and global climate. In this 32+ years of singular pursuit, he seeks to understand the Sun-Earth relations in terms of not only meteorology and climate, but also in terms of orbital dynamics of Sun-Earth-other planets interactions, magmatic (volcanoes) and tectonic (earthquakes) activities. His discoveries challenge computer modelers and advocates who consistently underestimate solar influences on cloud formation, ocean currents, and wind that cause climate to change. He has faced and risen above unethical and often libelous attacks on his research and his character, becoming one of the world's most respected and influential voices for climate realism. In 2018, he founded the Center for Environmental Research and Earth Sciences (CERES-science.com) in order to tackle a wider range of issues and topics without fears nor prejudices. 00:00 Introduction to the Study on Global Warming 00:08 The Accidental Beginnings of the Research 00:21 Exploring Grok 3 and AI Tools 00:54 Crafting the AI-Led Paper 01:28 Going Viral: Public Reception 01:56 Implications of AI in Science and Medicine 02:14 The First AI-Led Climate Science Paper 02:52 AI's Capability in Reviewing Literature 05:13 Understanding AI Benchmarks 07:16 The Truthfulness of AI Models 12:50 Grok's Unique Modes: Default, Think, and Deep Search 19:23 Writing the Paper with Grok 28:21 Balanced Literature Review 32:31 Public and Expert Reactions 35:26 The Role of AI in Writing Press Releases 35:36 Quotes and PR Practices 37:34 Discussion on Climate Science Paper 37:47 Human CO2 and Temperature Records 38:56 Total Solar Irradiance (TSI) Measurement Issues 45:59 CO2 Residence Time and COVID-19 Impact 48:51 AI's Role in Climate Science 56:13 Critique of IPCC and Scientific Integrity 01:11:51 Future of AI in Science and Medicine 01:13:39 Conclusion and Final Thoughts Jonathan Cohler’s related X post: https://x.com/cohler/status/1903188524888887344 Press release: New Study by Grok 3 beta and Scientists Challenges CO2’s Role in Global Warming: https://scipr.link/uploads/SCC20250106.pdf The paper: https://scienceofclimatechange.org/wp-content/uploads/SCC-Grok-3-Review-V5-1.pdf Robert Malone’s related post: https://www.malone.news/p/the-climate-scam-is-over Note: RLHF is “reinforcement learning from human feedback” CERES-Science: https://www.ceres-science.com/ ========= Slides for this podcast and AI summaries of all of my podcasts: https://tomn.substack.com/p/podcast-summaries My Linktree: https://linktr.ee/tomanelson1
