NALTO and Locum Tenens Legislation
Many thanks to Tanika Williams and Olivia D’Angelo for speaking with me today on “The Art of Medicine with Dr. Andrew Wilner.” Both Tanika and Olivia work for Jackson and Coker, a major staffing agency for physicians and advanced care providers who work locum tenens. As many of you know, I’ve been doing locums off and on since 1982. I even wrote a book about it, “The Locum Life: A Physician’s Guide to Locum Tenens.” Tanika and Olivia volunteer at NALTO, the National Association of Locums Tenens Organizations. Tanika works on the NALTO legislative and conference committee. She just returned from lobbying in Washington, D.C. where she educated lawmakers about locum tenens and advocated for the Healthcare Provider Shortage Minimization Act. She’ll tell us all about that in this episode! Olivia was recently elected to the NALTO Board of Directors. You can learn more about NALTO on their website: https://www.nalto.org/ To express your support for the Healthcare Provider Shortage Minimization Act (HR 5208) click here: https://www.nalto.org/action/ To contact Dr. Wilner or join the mailing list: www.andrewwilner.com.
