The Red Sox fell below .500 for the 1st time since June 11 (33-34) with an 8-3 loss in the series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday night at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Pivetta gave up a solo Home Run to Junior Caminero in the 4th Inning to make it a 2-1 game.  Pivetta allowed a leadoff Home Run to Josh Lowe and that evened the game at 2-2 in the 5th Inning.  Later in the Inning, Pivetta gave up his 3rd Home Run of the game, a 2-out shot by the #9 hitter, Jose Siri and that gave the Rays their 1st lead of the night. It's the 9th time this season where Red Sox pitchers has allowed 4 Home Runs in a Game (allowed 6 Home Runs on the road @Dodgers on July 20).         ----- In A Pinch: Romy Gonzalez pinch-hit for Casas in the 8th Inning and smacked a Home Run to make it 5-3.  It's the 3rd pinch-hit Home Run on the season for Gonzalez and the 7th for the Red Sox.    ----- A Look Ahead: The Red Sox and Rays continue their series Wednesday night in St. Pete, Florida.       The Red Sox are 4-3 this season against the Rays and swept a 3-Game Series at Tropicana Field in May.
