Living the dream with writer, speaker, and mental health advocate Maggie Kelly
Send us a textMaggie Kelly is a writer who focuses on mental health and personal development. After a seventh-grade course in biology, she became fascinated with genetics and what shapes a human. She decided to learn all about the human psyche and obtained her B.S. in Psychology. Maggie has struggled with depression since her young teens. Her life trajectory changed after having a psychotic break and hitting rock bottom at 26. Following a 3-month stint in the mental hospital, she found the help she needed. It inspired her first book, Recovering from Depression. When not writing, you can find her singing and playing the guitar with her cats. After undergoing ECT, Maggie found a good therapist and psychiatrist. She got on medication and did talk therapy every week to manage any symptoms. Her friends, family, and doctors noticed a visible difference in her demeanor. Maggie went from wanting to die to being grateful that she’s alive.www.maggiepkelly.com
