I had the pleasure of hosting Mark on my podcast, and our chat flowed effortlessly. I truly enjoyed the experience! Mark radiates charisma and has a genuine passion for travel. Hailing from the great state of Ohio, Mark Darden is not only a travel lover but also a fitness enthusiast. Growing up in Cleveland, he cultivated his interests in travel and fitness early on. His impressive fitness resume includes participating in events like the Arnold Pump and Run, Big Ten 10K, Fight for Air Stair Climb, and the CN Tower Climb for United Way, along with the 2016 Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon Challenge Series (both the 8K and Full Marathon), among others. Always eager to explore, Mark has journeyed to exciting destinations such as Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Dallas, Toronto, London, and Berlin. Mark is also the visionary behind Buckeye Muscle Media, LLC, where he serves as founder, author-publisher, and Chief Content Creator. Since launching in 2019, his company has proudly published two books, with a third set released in January 2025. Mark is an active member of both the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). When he's not busy crafting stories, he loves attending sports events to cheer on his teams, exploring new places across the country and beyond, and taking part in a variety of fitness competitions. His children’s book, "Elijah Goes to Philadelphia," is sure to delight readers of all ages. The story follows a young boy named Elijah, who is less than excited about a trip to Philadelphia with his father due to the negative tales he’s heard about the city. However, his dad encourages him to relax and rest, promising a fun adventure ahead. Upon waking, Elijah discovers himself in an unfamiliar place with his dad, and as they take in their surroundings with a mix of anticipation and nerves, they soon encounter Vinnie, who reveals that they’ve arrived just in time for an incredible historical event. Thanks to Vinnie, Elijah and his father explored a range of iconic sites in Philadelphia across various eras—like Independence Hall in 1776 and Reading Terminal Market in 1893, to name a few. Elijah's journey through Philadelphia is filled with excitement and unforgettable moments, making it feel almost like a dream come true!
