He is a Republican and represents District 69 in the Tennessee House of Representatives. Barrett was born on November 8, 1973, in Tennessee, and he graduated from Dickson County Senior High School in 1992. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Lincoln Memorial University in 1996 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1999. He assumed office on November 8, 2022, and his current term ends on November 3, 2026. Barrett won re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives to represent District 69 in the general election on November 5, 2024.
