In this episode of the Journey of My Mother’s Son podcast, I talk with two more of our full-time friends, Jan and Gary Crosby. Jan and Gary were another one of the couples that we traveled throughout Canada and Alaska with this past summer. It was great to have them on the show and reminisce about what an incredible trip we had. The people, the places, but most of all, the company we shared was such a blessing. We originally met Jennie and Eric on a volunteer project through A Year to Volunteer back in February of 2022 at Sam Houston Jones State Park in Lake Charles, Louisiana. We are so grateful for Y2V. Not only for the opportunity to make a difference throughout the country, but for the amazing community that we have become a part of. If it wasn’t for Y2V, this epic Alaskan group adventure would have never taken place. Sure, we probably would have all made it to Alaska at some point during our individual full-time journeys, but to be able to experience the last frontier with this small group of friends is truly what put the trip over the top for all of us. As I’ve spoken to each of our friends that we traveled with, we have all said that we’ll most definitely get to Alaska again at some point, but this trip will always be the trip of a lifetime, only because of who we were able to go through it with.
