Donald Trump has vowed to begin mass deportations on Day 1 of his new administration. As the nation's preeminent home to immigrants, how will New York City respond? On today's show, we'll speak with City Councilmember Alexa Aviles, Chair of the Council's Committee on Immigration about the laws and resources the city has in place to protect immigrants as well as her concerns that Mayor Eric Adams may assist Trump's mass deportation project. In the second half of the show, we'll speak with mutual aid activists from the South Bronx Mutual Aid Network and Foodfight Brooklyn about how they are assisting immigrants who are being evicted from their shelters in the middle of the winter as well as preparing for whatever happens after Trump's inauguration.
