International Graphite (ASX: IG6) managing director and chief executive officer Andrew Worland joins Small Caps to discuss the recent $4 million grant from the Western Australian government to help fast track development of its Springdale-Collie mine-to-market battery graphite supply strategy. That WA support took the company’s total funding support from Australian state and federal governments to $17.2 million. The new funds will pay for essential activities to help propel the company’s mine-to-market strategy through feasibility to commercialisation. The new grant will also be applied to the installation of Australia’s first demonstration-scale spheroidiser at the company’s graphite processing and research and development facility at Collie. The Collie plant is a key component of the company’s fully-integrated graphite supply strategy which will see graphite mined at the world-class Mason Bay and Springdale Central deposits in southern WA and then processed at  the first purpose- built commercial graphite micronising plant in Australia at Collie. The fully integrated graphite supply strategy has already attracted the attention of potential customers and finance partners from destinations such as North America, Japan and Korea.
