Since Mike is an entertainment lawyer, let’s learn about an important entertainment historical anniversary today On this day in 1928, Mickey Mouse debuted in Steamboat Willie, one of the earliest synchronized‑sound cartoons. Its success launched the Disney legacy and changed animation forever. November 18 is still celebrated as Mickey Mouse’s official birthday. The original version of Mickey Mouse from Steamboat Willie is now in the public domain, meaning its copyright has expired and it can be used freely for creative works.
