Media Personality Turned Beauty Entrepreneur: Allison McNamara went from interning at E! to being Who What Wear's first fashion show host to being on big screen with Pop Sugar, FYI and Today Show before founding skincare line, Mara Beauty.
Influencer and entrepreneur, Allison McNamara, is a seasoned TV host, fashion and beauty influencer and founder of the new clean algae-based skincare line, MARA. Allison started her career at Who What Wear as the host of ‘Real Girls Real Style,” and then landed as the lead talent at POPSUGAR where she wrote, hosted and produced the digital media giant's fashion and entertainment content for six years. Allison quickly expanded her network by co-hosting ABC’s Emmy® Award-winning Oscar red carpet pre-show, “Backstage Pass, co-hosting Dick Clark’s live red carpet shows and appearing regularly on the Today show, as well co-anchoring POPSUGAR Now on TV Guide Network–a daily entertainment cable news show–and hosting her own show Midnight Style on the fyi Network. Allison then took her experience to Refinery29 and ET Online where she created, hosted and produced beauty videos and developed marquee shows. Currently, she still lends her decades of writing expertise as the Editorial Director of Mane Addicts and her on camera experience anchoring the ULTA Beauty General Manager’s Conferences in 2016-2017, Play! by Sephora and moderating panels. A life long beauty and wellness enthusiast, Allison has always had a passion for beauty and drummed up the idea for her clean algae-based skincare line MARA on a trip to Istanbul, Turkey which launched with one hero product — MARA Algae + Moringa Universal Face Oil. Growing up with her father working in skincare and color cosmetics, Allison has had a robust knowledge of ingredients dating back to middle school and spent weekends on commercial sets learning about brand marketing and formulation.
