Welcome, My name is Tracey Cook and this is the podcast series Victim to Victory.  This series gives a voice to those who have overcome challenges in all forms, that dare greatly to share their real stories, that have seen hope and rose above those adversities to become victorious, to go on to support and inspire others to do the same. Angela was the victim of her circumstances. Angela had a responsible job in local government; she was a mom and a wife. But she had patterns of behavior that didn’t serve her. At work, she would over-give, then feel victimized when no one acknowledged her contributions. She was filling the role of three jobs and getting paid for only one. The same pattern existed in her home life; she gave herself away, she lost her voice, she didn’t speak her truth because the price she would pay for doing so was too great. She saw myself as the victim of her now former husband. In her mind, he needed to change; Angela was innocent. Everything changed when the Tubbs wildfire swept through the wine country of California in 2017. Angela"s family home was destroyed.  She had to rethink her life; everything was lost, there was no structure.
