Dear Johnny, My name is Shelby and I work full time and I’m also a student. I’m writing for help because I have an emergency. A few days ago our service animal, Luna (a husky), was playing in the yard and fell and injured her knee. We rushed her to the emergency vet and found out she needs a TPLO surgery (tibial plateau osteotomy). She has a dislocated kneecap and torn CCL (puppy version of an ACL). Her surgery costs $3800 to repair and we just don’t have it. Luna is a big part of our family, and more than that, she is my service dog. In May, I was having severe headaches and was diagnosed with a brain tumor that effects my vision. It’s a pituitary adenoma about the size of a large gumball. It’s not cancerous, but it suppresses my adrenal gland and can cause seizures and severe drops in blood pressure. I may have to have surgery, but for now I’m on medication to regulate it. Luna is trained and certified as an alert dog for seizures and blood pressure alerts, and I love her and need her. I can’t do without her. Thanks for reading my letter and for any help you can give. I can provide any documentation or vet estimate you need. Thank you, Shelby Who Helped: Amy, Jeff & Tracy, Pete & Pipefitters 533, Derek, Tammy How You Helped: Paid for Luna’s veterinary surgery, pet rampDear Johnny, My name is Shelby and I work full time and I’m also a student.
