CELEBRATION SUMMER is a melodic punk band from Washington, DC that formed in late 2019 when bassist Greg Raelson set out to channel the sound and spirit of the late ’80s/early ’90s punk he grew up on. Joined by guitarist Dan Hauser and singer/guitarist Nate Falger, the band later solidified its lineup with powerhouse drummer Chris Ricci. With a rhythm section driven by Raelson’s melodic bass lines and Ricci’s dynamic drumming, layered with Hauser’s urgent guitars and Falger’s emotive lyrics and angular riffs, Celebration Summer crafts anthemic, thoughtful songs that reflect the struggles, tension, and hope of modern-day America. Their name pays homage to Hüsker Dü’s classic song Celebrated Summer and DC’s pivotal “Revolution Summer” of 1985, blending legacy and intent. Thanks for listening!!!
