The moment we start seeing death as a transition instead of an ending, we understand it doesn't have to be the end of our relationship with the person who passed.  In this episode, I'm joined by Jane L. Rosen, Author and New York Times, Huffington Post, Redbook, and Tablet contributor. Her first novel, "Nine Women, One Dress," has been translated into ten languages, and her second, "Eliza Starts a Rumor." has been optioned by NBC. Her latest book, "On Fire Island," tells the story of a 37-year-old woman who unexpectedly passes away and decides to spend one more summer with her loved ones instead of following the light to the other realm. Jane's book gifts its readers with beautiful moments, poignant comedy, and a new and unique perspective on grief.  Throughout our conversation, Jane talks about why she decided to write her novel from a deceased character's perspective, her life on Fire Island, cultural traditions, and intergenerational friendships so common on the island. Jane also shares her thoughts on grief, loss, and our connection with the afterlife, why it is crucial to maintain our relationships with those who passed away, and much more.  Tune in and listen to episode 192 of Grief and Happiness, and explore new ways of keeping in touch with your loved ones after they pass.
