#142 - Dan Rozycki - Providing Highways for Everyone that Cost Less and Last Longer
Dan Rozycki is co-founder and CEO of The Transtec Group, Inc., a pavement engineering company in Austin. Transtec invents better ways to design and build and maintain highways for the benefit of everyone who uses highways. Transtec also does pavement research, pavement testing, and Transtec creates hardware and software products for the pavements industry. Transtec has a passion for better pavement and has so far saved the taxpaying public over $600M by finding ways to build and maintain highways for less money. Dan grew up in Houston in a middle-class family. Mom was a teacher and dad was a pediatrician to the poor and underemployed. Dan loved jobs and work and started a car wash in his mom's driveway when he was 10 and then a dog sitting service at age 12 and then got his first job in an office when he was 13. Dan had many lousy bosses from age 13 until age 27 and that motivated Dan to want to prove to the world that businesses can be more profitable when they empower employees and treat people well. Dan got his civil engineering degree at UT Austin and lives in Austin with his wife and daughter.
