Today I am joined on the podcast by Robby and Chelsea of the high-energy, riff-driven alternative Rock band GUSH, who blend influences from the Grunge, Punk and desert scene. I'll be chatting with Robby and Chelsea about how the band formed, their brilliant EP 'Exposure Therapy', which was released last year, their single 'Like That', released in February and their latest single 'Your World', released yesterday and the song that will be the primary focus of this episode. ‘Your World’ finds the band embracing their garage rock and pop influences alongside their usual desert grunge. As though The Stooges tied The Kinks to their jeep while Brody Dalle’s Spinnerette drove through the desert with The Hives soundtracking the whole sordid scene. The song writing here is sharp and concise with a focus on dynamics and melody. Chelsea’s vocals have never sounded more confident alongside some blistering guitar hooks from Robbie. The band also have a bunch of shows coming up for the rest of summer, including Gazefest in Belfest on August 30th so make sure to grab tickets to see them!
