Engagement and Divorce with Nancy Perpall
At the time of this episodes release, engagement season has officially begun. So happy Thanksgiving, and best of luck if you're considering popping the question to your significant other. But before you commit to sealing the deal, I want you to hear this expert speak on how so many people go so wrong. My guest today is Nancy Perpall. Nancy was a critical care nurse who transitioned all the way over to law, becoming an attorney. Despite her initial plan to be a malpractice and defense attorney, she ended up spending 34 years as a divorce attorney, taking apart marriages. She's here today to try and save people from the heart wrenching pain of going through an unnecessary divorce, even if that means avoiding getting married to the person you think you love in the first place. We discuss everything from the questions you need to ask before getting married, to prenuptial agreements, love addiction, and even into thing I'd never heard of like: pre-marital counseling and some crazy divorce technicalities. Heads up: I would not call this explicit because it's technical, but we do discuss sex a fair amount. Also I want to make a slightly selfish announcement. As of today I'm celebrating my 30th birthday. I'm not where I saw myself even a year ago, but I'm so glad that this show has been here through all of it. And my host, Podbean, has given me one of the greatest gifts I could ever get without even knowing. They've listed me as a featured podcast. You can stick around for the end of the episode to hear more about Podbean and how you can get your own show like mine. Let's make sure marriage is the right decision, before divorce becomes the only option. Please take a brief moment to rate the show five stars on iTunes, Spotify, or Audible. If you really liked it, remember to subscribe for more episodes and check out the nearly one hundred episode backlog I've built up. I'm not sure quite yet what I'm going to do for episode 100, but you let me know what you'd like to hear by reaching out and emailing me: DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com or send a message on any of the show pages on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or wherever else. I'm always looking for new topics, guest ideas, and questions from the audience also. If you're looking to start your own podcast, I'd highly HIGHLY recommend using the host service I use: Podbean. You can find almost literally everything you could ever need to start an amazing show of your own at podbean.com That's p-o-d-b-e-a-n .com They have incredible tools to make recording, hosting, cross-posting, promoting, and even monotizing incredibly easy. They are also built with an awesome support team behind the scenes that has always answered any question I've had in blazing fast time. I feel unbelievably lucky to be a featured podcast on their platform, and the opportunity they're giving me to reach a whole new world of audience. The November rankings update as we near the final week are: 1. United States, with California, Pennsylvania, and Oregon as the top states. 2. The United Kingdom. 3. Australia, now led by New South Wales. 4. Canada, with Alberta as top province. 5. Sweden, still just barely led by Skane. Happy Thanksgiving to you! Happy Birthday to me! and I'll see you all on Monday with tips on making sure we can reach old age without all the difficulties.
