Controversy grows over possible redistricting session
On this edition of “All INdiana Politics,” Indiana and Texas House Democrats on Wednesday called the latter state’s ongoing redistricting fight an issue with massive implications for the entire country. Gov. Mike Braun said the federal government will pay Indiana for housing immigration detainees at the Miami Correctional Facility, though details are still being worked out. Third-grade literacy rates saw the biggest jump in the state’s history of the IREAD assessment. It’s also the fourth year in a row rates climbed. An Indianapolis leader answered questions about why a homeless encampment in Fountain Square hasn’t been cleared. News 8’s Phil Sanchez brings in two members of Indiana’s best political team, Democrat Lara Beck and Republican Mario Massillamany, to discuss the special redistricting session, the handling of the Fountain Square homeless camp, and more.
