If you've driven on country roads, you know that gut-wrenching feeling when you've seen the latest road kill or a kangaroo or wombat experiencing a near-miss. But what happens to wildlife when they do survive a hit? Claire Smith can tell you — after first setting up Queensland's first volunteer run 24-hour wildlife rescue service in 2012, she took her rescue work further in 2022 and founded Queensland's first kangaroo hospital complete with specially equipped ambulances. Guest: Claire Smith, founder of Wildlife Rescue Sunshine Coast and co-founder and CEO of Barefoot on the Ground.
