Carlow hopes end in Parnell Park while at home the SHC is one round away from the semi-finals

In Parnell Park, despite having a narrow advantage on 45 minutes Carlow were eventually beaten by Louth who go on to play Fermanagh in the All-Ireland JFC final in Croke Park.  Back home the senior hurling championship is one game away from the semi-final stage.
