Republicans regained the Senate majority in the 2024 election but some controversial cabinet picks from President-elect Trump have caused some division. The White House is facing some scrutiny as they have failed to provide answers to drone sightings across the northeast, with the Biden administration saying that there is no cause for concern. The House will have to stare down a potential government shutdown at the end of the week as the deadline for federal funding into 2025 looms large.
