Welcome to Chapter 62 of the Okie Bookcast! My guest is children"s author, Toby Rowland. Toby has been the Voice of the Sooners for the last 13 years. He is also the host of the “T-Row in the Morning Show” on KREF in Norman and is an on-air Sports Contributor for KWTV (OKC) and KOTV (Tulsa). Toby released his first children"s book, featuring University of Oklahoma mascots Boomer and Sooner, in 2020 and has just released a second book - "Put the Ponies in the Barn: Boomer and Sooner Take Their Wagon to the SEC". In our conversation we talk about his books and his writing, working with his illustrator - Rob Peters, and the challenges presented by working with protected intellectual properties like college mascots.
