(Although, for most home gardens, mid-June is still too early for the harvest.) The history of corn dates back to nearly 7,000 years ago in Mexico. Originally growing as a wild grass, corn was eventually grown as a crop and harvested. From Mexico, corn eventually spread north into what is now the U.S. Native Americans planted and harvested corn, making it plentiful across tribes. Today, corn is found across North America....and there are dozens of ways to jazz it up besides just salt and pepper like: Cajun...just mix garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper, paprika and oregano or Citrus Seasoned Salt...Add sea salt, hot smoked paprika, black pepper, smoked salt, and finely grated orange zest or Italian Corn on the Cob...parmesan cheese, powdered garlic and italian seasonings.
